Synopsis

Director Bill Morrison's documentary The Great Flood forgoes words altogether and instead utilizes a wealth of archive material and an original score featuring legendary guitarist Bill Frisell in order to show how the flooding of the Mississippi River in 1927 forever altered not just the lives of thousands, but the course of American popular music by forcing sharecroppers north.
