Movie
The Glorias
Synopsis
Julie Taymor directs Julianne Moore as the latter plays feminist icon Gloria Steinem in her adult years, specifically depicting her celebrity status during the 1970s when women's liberation was beginning to go mainstream worldwide. Alicia Vikander plays the 1950s younger version of Steinem, showing her earlier life as she travels to India for a two-year fellowship. The trip further fuels her feminist fires as she takes this new perspective while bucking the male-dominated world of journalism during the 1960s in New York. Co-starring Janelle Monáe, Bette Midler, and Timothy Hutton.
