Synopsis
Filmmaker Matt Wolf teams with producer Jason Schwartzman to adapt Jon Savage's 2007 bestseller, which explores how concept of "teenagers" didn't come into being until the early 20th century, forever altering our concept of aging and development by linking the gap between childhood and adulthood. From the early emergence of youth culture in the form of frivolous flappers and Swing Kids to the more ominous Hitler Youth during World War II, Wolf's film examines how adolescents became a crucial factor in shaping popular culture during a century when society seemed to be evolving faster than it had at any previous point in human history.
