Asi nejostudnější film Vlasty Buriana vznikl jako poválečná propustka k jeho další filmové práci. V této obskurní, neumětelské taškařici ztělesnil prostoduchého moravského vesničana, kostelníka, jenž se nechá vesnickým kulakem přesvědčit, aby se podílel na záškodnické činnosti. Vinou svého zmatkářství je však odhalen, takže pracovití družstevníci mohou v klidu oslavit dožínky. S jihomoravským nářečím, v němž je celý film mluven, Burian těžce zápasí, nevzbuzuje ani tak smích jako soucit, vlastně se za něho stydíme. Prostoduchý kostelník Kodýtek se nechá přemluvit vesnickým boháčem k záškodnickým akcím. Má také šířit pomlouvačné letáky. Zásluhou hospodáře Pěknici však jeho činnost s ostudou ztroskotá.
