Owl and the Sparrow director Stephane Gauger returns to the helm for this musical drama about a Vietnamese ribbon dancer from the sticks who joins a hip-hop dance crew in Saigon. When Mai moves to the city, her dream is to become a professional dancer. Though at first Mai has a hard time finding her footing both literally and figuratively, things start to look up when she is befriended by free-spirited city-girl dancer Kim, who introduces her to the world of hip-hop dance. Before long, the eager newcomer is catching on and hanging out at the local community center with Kim's dance crew, Saigon Fresh. But just when it seems like Saigon Fresh is about to break big, Kim bungles a crucial competition and quits in embarrassment. Meanwhile, as Kim gradually warms up to wealthy and charming newcomer Hai, Mai gets a crash course in hip-hop dance from Do-Boy, the leader of Saigon Fresh, and begins teaching ribbon dancing at the community center. Just as the next big competition approaches, however, the troupe learns that a powerful developer has plans to demolish their beloved practice space to make way for a luxury hotel. Later, Hai and Kim have a falling out, prompting Kim down a dark path of partying and drugs. After being nursed back to health by Mai's benevolent landlord, a respected professor, Kim rejoins Saigon Fresh and the troupe comes back stronger than ever. Now, in order to save the community center, Saigon Fresh will have to beat the hottest hip-hop dance crew in Vietnam. They certainly have what it takes to come through with flying colors, but will they be able to keep their cool under all the pressure?, A Vietnamese ribbon dancer from the country joins a hip-hop dance crew in Saigon, and helps them save their practice space from being turned into a luxury hotel by a greedy developer.
