Movie
Roman Holiday
Synopsis
(1953) Continuing the week-long season dedicated to the actress, Audrey Hepburn, in endearing, sparkling form, won her only Oscar in this delightful comedy/ romance, which was nominated for a phenomenal ten of the golden statuettes and eventually won two. She plays a princess from an un-named European country bored by the impositions of her status. On a state visit to Italy, she runs away from her embassy and ends up with an American correspondent (Gregory Peck), who shows her the delights of the freedom of Rome but, sadly, her royal duties impinge on their budding relationship.
