Richard Lester's tale of Robin Hood and Maid Marian in their twilight years sees Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn take the leads as Robin, back from the Crusades finds his love is the Abbess of a priory and that his arch enemy, the Sheriff Of Nottingham (Robert Shaw) still wants him dead. He must return to the forest but will his maid come with him?, Tale based on the Robin Hood legend starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn, in which an older Robin returns from the Crusades to a sorely troubled England where King Richard is a madman and his evil brother John holds sway, abetted by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Word of Robin's return spreads, and soon his old foes are after his blood. Supporters rally to his side and Robin sets about assembling an army for a final showdown.
