Energická lékařka Alice Váňová nastoupí jako závodní lékařka šachty Mír. Na radu svého bývalého kolegy doktora Kaleše se pustí do výzkumu, jehož cílem je prevence silikózy pomocí takzvané kalciové bariéry, což v praxi znamená pravidelné pití mléka. Jenže přinuťte horníky, aby veřejně pili mléko. Na první pohled nepřekonatelný problém. Ale nic není nemožné, a tak to prostě partička sedmi horníků, přezdívaná parta hic, dostane příkazem. Jenže i přes stranicky zdůvodněnou přednášku o prospěšnosti celé akce havíři statečně odolávají naléhání, aby se experimentu zúčastnili. Předseda ROH Janeček se nakonec rozhodne, že zvítězí všemi prostředky. S milými rebely se proto pustí do psychologické války...
