Dínom-dánom ország uralkodója, Tóbiás király (Greguss Zoltán) palacsintasütő-versenyt hirdet a környék lányainak. Elképzelése szerint annak adja a fiát, aki a legjobb palacsintát süti. Ahogy az ilyenkor a mesében lenni szokott: a vállalkozó szellemű lányok mind kudarcot vallanak. Nem így Kökényszemű Katica (Detre Annamária), aki végül megnyeri a versenyt, ám neki nem kell a királyfi... Mindeközben Derelye (Kaló Flórián), a gonosz szakács, aki bandájával sorra dönti romba az országokat, most éppen Dínom-dánom ország éléskamráját fosztja ki, de Éliás királyfi (Balázsovits Lajos) elhatározza, hogy véget vet a pazarlásnak, a tolvajlásnak. Segít neki Csöröge (Harsányi Gábor), a hűséges bolond, és Kökényszemű Katica palacsintasütő képessége is jó szolgálatot tesz a küzdelemben.
