Synopsis
Adaptation of Anna Deavere Smith's play takes aim at America's failed justice system, epidemic of police brutality and ongoing fight for civil rights. Culled together from hours of personal interviews from across the country conducted by Smith, the film finds her transforming herself into diverse characters as she brings to life the stories of 18 real-life people, including current and former inmates, protesters, educators and politicians.
