تدور احداث الفيلم حول المطربين الشعبيين (سعد الصغير) و(محمود الليثي)، اللذين يتدهور بهما الحال وتسوء حالتهما المادية، فينصحهما صديقهما بالزواج من فتاتين ثريتين، ليغيرا من حالهما، فيقعا في حب (شهيرة) و(بهيرة)، بعد أن أخبرهما أحد الأشخاص بأنهما من عائلة غنية، وتتطور العلاقة ويذهب (سعد) و(الليثي) إلى منزل العائلة، وهنا يمسك بهما (علاء مرسي) معتقدًا أنهما جيئا لمعاكسة شقيقتيه، فيخيرهما بين الزواج منهما أو قتلهما، فيوافق (سعد) و(الليثي) على الزواج اعتقاد بأنهما سيتزوجان من (شهيرة) و(بهيرة)، لكن تحدث مفارقة غريبة، ويقع ما لم يكن في الحسبان.
