Synopsis
Like this taut film-noir style thriller a strange, highly contagious virus called STBO is spread by having impersonal sex and it is killing adolescents by the score. A serum has been created, but it is hidden away in the penthouse of a tall sky scraper. Much of the ensuing story centers on the teen-age son of a murdered criminal and his young lover whom he dumps to begin hanging out with two of his late father's pals. One of these crooks has been contracted by an enigmatic middle-aged woman known only as "The American" to steal the valuable serum and it is he who involves the teen-age boy, who begins falling in love with the older crook's girl. During the heist, the teen shoots a cop and after fleeing is wounded by his employer when she comes to retrieve the serum. Unfortunately, things are not as they appear and when "The American" figures this out, she immediately sets out to stop the thieves before they board a plane to Switzerland. A terrible shoot-out ensues.
