Tim Melville is a strikingly attractive young man - beautiful, even. He's sweet-natured, with a real gift for gardening. Though Tim is slow, probably mildly disabled, he's not stupid, and not a child. Just slow. Mary Horton is in her 40's. She lost her husband, the love of her life, years ago. And when he died, part of her died with him - the part that lets us really love another human being. Still, she lives a comfortable life, running her bookstore, tending to her home, and volunteering at the animal shelter.
