Le Chef
Synopsis
A self-taught chef forges an unlikely alliance with a Three Star chef who's desperate to retain his prestigious status in this lighthearted comedy from France. Aspiring chef Jacky (Michaël Youn) may not have been educated at a world-class culinary institute, but his lack of formal training has made him a master innovator in the kitchen. Determined to find work despite his lack of experience, Jacky soon finds himself in the orbit of prestigious chef Alexandre Lagarde (Jean Reno), who's currently being edged out of his position at a fancy French restaurant by a scheming CEO (Julien Boisselier) who seeks to capitalize on the latest gastronomical trends. Although at first it seems like Jacky and his traditional-minded counterpart have precious little in common, the closer the two me work together, the more they realize each possesses knowledge that could help them prove that sometimes when combined, trend and tradition can yield extraordinary results.
