Synopsis
In this grim Jean Renoir drama, a mild-mannered, married painter/bank clerk's simple life is thrown into chaos when he befriends a pretty prostitute who becomes his mistress and who later secretly sells off his paintings for her own gain, unknowingly making him a sensation in the art world.
