Synopsis
The critics - and the public - were unanimous in their praise for once when it came to this top-notch period thriller, set in the 1950s. Former Neighbours hunk Guy Pearce is a revelation as by-the-book Detective Ed Exley, who finds himself reluctantly teamed with the thug-like Detective Bud White to solve a complex murder case. Supposedly assisting them is crooked Detective Jack Vincennes, who is more interested in taking back-handers from sleazy tabloid editor Sid Hudgeons, hungry for gossip on the rich and famous. Meanwhile, both Bud and Ed find themselves drawn to femme fatale Lynn Bracken, a woman who may be able to help solve the murder.
