Советский мультипликационный фильм «Хвосты», где роли озвучивали Анатолий Папанов и Ольга Аросева, рассказывает поучительную историю о том, как лесные звери решили поменяться хвостами. Убегая от собак, лиса теряет свой хвост. Сорока советует зайцу взять хвост себе для того, чтобы теперь все его боялись. Послушавшись, тот оставляет свой хвост на пеньке, и его вскоре находит лиса. Зловредная сорока убеждает лису в том, что изящный заячий хвостик очень бы ей подошёл. Встретив волка, лиса хитростью убеждает его поменяться с ней хвостами. Однако через некоторое время звери понимают, что чужие хвосты приносят им одни неприятности.
