يدور الفيلم حول شاب يحضر لماجيستير في علم النفس ويعمل في ملهي ليلي كمصدر للدخل.. وفي الصباح يذهب الي التدريب العملي داخل مستشفي الامراض العقلية كجزء من التحضير للماجستير.. الي أن يقابل فتاه داخل المشفى لا تبدو عليها إمارات الجنون فينجذب إليها وبعد أن يعرف انها مريضه نفسيا يتعاطف معها ويدافع عنها ضد جلسات الكهرباء التي تتلقاها كمهدئ ! تتطور الاحداث الي أن يتزوجها بعد حالة من التحسن في حالتها نتيجة اهتمامه بها رغم معارضة جميع من حوله فيعاني كثيرا معها بعد انتشار الخبر بأنها مريضة من مستشفي المجانين وتتابع الاحداث الي أن ينكشف سر مرضها الحقيقي وان زوج امها هو السبب في مرضها وتتخلص من هذا المرض النفسي نهائيا.
