KANSAS è una delle band storiche della scena hard progressive rock americana. Dopo il suo debut album del 1974, il gruppo di Topeka ha portato avanti una carriera costellata di hit (su tutti Dust in the Wind e Carry On Wayward Son) e di album indimenticabili. Come molte delle band veterane, anche i Kansas sono passati attraverso vari periodi musicali e varie formazioni. Questo Live Confessions contiene la registrazione del concerto ad Omaha, Nebraska nel 1982, per l'allora celebre programma televisivo King Biscuit Flower Hour, e vede il gruppo di Kerry Livgren nel suo 10° anniversario dalla formazione, durante il tour di supporto all' album Vinyl Confessions. Sul palco una inedita line-up a sette elementi, tra i quali il bravissimo cantante John Elefante, appena entrato nella band, il leader e polistrumentista Kerry Livgren, il grandioso violinista Robby Steinhardt ed il polistrumentista Warren Ham (tastiere, flauto e sax).
