Synopsis
A Harvard law professor attempts to prove the innocence of a man wrongly sentenced to Florida's death row in this legal thriller. The imprisoned Bobby Earl Ferguson (Blair Underwood) chooses to write to Paul Armstrong (Sean Connery) because of the respected academic's public stance against the death penalty. Not having practiced law in years, Armstrong is reluctant to take the case but is ultimately convinced by Ferguson's eloquence. The professor journeys south to the Florida Everglades to investigate, discovering evidence that Ferguson was framed by a false confession obtained by brutal local police officer Tanny Brown (Laurence Fishburne).
