How Long Is “Invisible Child”?

Five years ago, Annie had feared that she was losing her husband Tom. Then, one morning, Annie's empty arms were cradling Maggie, a new baby only she could see. Reasoning that confronting Annie's fantasy might destroy her, Tom played along, hoping in time it would pass. But, even the birth of a son, Sam, failed to make Maggie go away. The family hires a nanny, Gillian, who finds herself helping Tom go along with Annie's delusion and struggling to keep track of what Maggie is 'doing'. In a well-meaning attempt to seek help for Annie, Gillian unintentionally alerts the authorities, who begin an investigation. If they conclude that Annie is irrational, and therefore an unfit mother, they'll take the children away, and perhaps even institutionalise Anne, devastating the family Gillian has come to love. But Gillian will not let that happen, whatever it takes.
