Synopsis
In celebration of 25 years of Channel 4, More4 presents another chance to see some classic shows from the archive. From 1988, classic C4 comedy from The Comic Strip, directed by Stephen Frears and featuring a memorable turn from Peter Cook. The highly successful and talented comedy team helped make Channel 4's early reputation as champions of alternative humour. The inappropriately named hit man 'Mr Jolly' (Peter Cook) rents office space next door to the alcoholic incompetents Rik and Ade (Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson), proprietors of Dreamy time Escorts - London's seediest escort agency. Through a catalogue of mistakes and misunderstandings the deranged Mr Lovebucket (Peter Richardson), purveyor of wines and spirits to most London off licences, finds he has paid Rik and Ade £3,000 to 'take out Nicholas Parsons'. Being the intellectual amoebas they are, Rik and Ade see this as the summit of their escorting activities without realising the murderous implications behind Mr Lovebucket's commission.
