Synopsis
"On the Brink" (Part 1 of 3) examines the link between environmental pressures and political instability in visits to South Africa, Bangladesh, Peru and Haiti, and the U.S.-Mexican border. In Bangladesh, monsoon-season flooding often turns catastrophic; at other times of the year farmers face drought. In Peru, land scarcity led to a bloody insurrection.
