Synopsis

Another chance to see the US drama series that follows a 'true crime' story whose characters are all entrenched in the trademark humour, murder and 'Minnesota nice' that made the film of the same name an enduring classic. Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade, A Simple Plan) stars as Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small-town insurance salesman Lester Nygaard, played by Bafta award-winning and Emmy-nominated Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Sherlock). Colin Hanks (Dexter, Parkland) is Duluth Police Deputy Gus Grimly, a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a police officer when he comes face-to-face with a killer. Rounding out Fargo's colourful cast of recurring characters is Emmy-winner Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad), who plays Bill Oswalt, a Bemidji deputy with seniority over his younger, smarter and more ambitious colleague Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman). Emmy-nominated Oliver Platt (Frost/ Nixon, The Big C) plays Stavros Milos, the Supermarket King of Minnesota. In the first episode, brow-beaten insurance salesman Lester Nygaard is set on a path of destruction after an encounter with malicious drifter Lorne Malvo.
