Synopsis
Floyd Smoot (Rufe Davis), one of the Hooterville Cannonball's two engineers, is down in the dumps after he is jilted by his mail-order sweetheart. To cheer Floyd up, hotel owner Kate (Bea Benadaret) pretends to be attracted to him. This well-intentioned deception backfires when Floyd begins thinking about marriage! Don Washbrook makes his first series appearance as Herbie Bates, erstwhile sweetheart of Kate's flirtatious daughter Billie Jo (Jeannine Riley).
