Synopsis
Brand New: The Emmy-winning epic historical series continues its UK premiere on More4. Showing as part of More4's US Election Season, John Adams stars Paul Giamatti (Sideways, Cinderella Man) in the title role, and Laura Linney (The Squid and the Whale, Love Actually) as his wife Abigail. In this episode, President Adams holds firm in keeping America out of the Anglo-French conflict, despite intense provocation from France. Meanwhile, Adams falls out with Thomas Jefferson. He also disowns his alcoholic son, Oliver, shortly before Oliver's death. Later, drained by politics and family tragedy, Adams leaves office and Washington.
