Synopsis
King Nebuchadnezzar besieges Jerusalem and forces the exiled Jews to work as slaves in Babylon. Decades later, Cyrus of Persia conquers Babylon and allows the Jews to return to their homeland after Daniel survives the lion's den. Over 500 years later, the Angel Gabriel tells Mary that she will bear the Son of God, but her new baby is in immediate danger from King Herod. As Jesus grows from boy to early manhood, he is baptised by John and tempted by Satan. He emerges from the desert stronger and recruits his first disciple, Peter.
