Synopsis
Based on the internationally acclaimed TV series created by Lynda La Plante, Prime Suspect stars Maria Bello as Detective Jane Timoney, struggling to be accepted in a male dominated homicide squad in New York. Although she is tough, smart and perceptive, Timoney is confronted by more than just hostile suspects when she is transferred to the Manhattan South Task Force. Despite having the wary support of her boss Lieutenant Sweeney, the respect of her colleagues will be much harder to win. In the series premiere, Jane is on the hunt for the Prime Suspect. Jane gets a rough start in her new New York homicide squad when she questions her new colleagues' work on a mysterious murder case. After complaining to her lieutenant about not getting cases, Jane manages to find a unique angle to help solve a crime. Meanwhile, Jane goes to her father (Peter Gerety) for advice.
