Synopsis
A new 13-part US series with Laura Linney who stars as Cathy Jamison, a reserved suburban wife, teacher and mother whose recent cancer diagnosis shakes up her life. She finds hope, humour and the light side of a dark situation, while managing her immature but well-meaning husband Paul (Oliver Platt). In the first episode, Cathy is determined to live life to the fullest following the diagnosis of terminal cancer and keeps news of the illness between her and her handsome young oncologist, Dr Todd. She starts by throwing infantile husband Paul out of the house and ordering a pool to be built in the garden so she can teach her favourite dives from childhood to son Adam. Later, she makes amends with grouchy neighbour Marlene and encourages Andrea, an overweight and difficult pupil, to lose weight and stop smoking.
