Synopsis
(1968) Based on Alistair MacLean's novel, John Sturges' Cold War thriller stars Rock Hudson as Jim Ferraday, commander of an American nuclear submarine on duty in Scotland. He is suddenly given top secret orders to proceed to Ice Station Zebra at the North Pole, picking up along the way a mysterious passenger, David Jones (Patrick McGoohan), who is to take ultimate command. Also on board are Russian defector Boris Vaslov (Ernest Borgnine) and two secretive US Marine officers. Once the pole is reached, the mission is revealed to be the recovery of satellite photographs of Western defences. But the Russians are also pursuing the pictures, and there will be treachery and double-crosses on both sides before the episode comes to its action-packed solution... M,W,R,S,HD.
