Houseguest

Comedy in which a broke man poses as a dentist to escape the loan sharks who are chasing him. Kevin Franklin has been borrowing money left, right and centre to fulfil his dream of running his own business. However, now Kevin owes a lot of money - and it is all to the Gasperini Brothers, two of the least trustworthy characters in the neighbourhood. Thinking fast and in need of somewhere to lie low, Kevin decides to pass himself off as a dentist and becomes the weekend houseguest of the Youngs, an unsuspecting couple who have no idea of the chaos which is about to descend upon them!, "Oh the tangled web we weave..." Such is the premise of this light comedy. Kevin Franklin is on the run in the Pittsburgh airport. A dreamer, down on his luck, he has had unsuccessful dealings with loan sharks who now want to break his legs and other extremities. Just before he is captured by the thugs, he runs into Gary Young, a friendly lawyer, who has come to meet an old friend whom he hasn't seen in 25 years. In desperation, Kevin quickly assumes Gary's friend's identity and becomes a guest in Gary's suburban home. There he meets Gary's slightly off-kilter family. Masquerading as Gary's friend, even though Kevin knows absolutely nothing about him and must constantly double-talk his way out of situations (including dental surgery, and a lecture) Kevin manages to help everyone in the family. When the thugs finally trace Kevin to the Young home, and his true identity is revealed, the family rallies to his defense.
