1949年秋，解放军开到哈尼山。部队进山第一天，正碰上黑面人拦路抢劫土司马帮。土司向解放军报告，马鹏残匪已经逃出国境，当地只有一股"杀人放火，无恶不作"的"黑面匪"。群众却反映："黑面匪"专抢土司和马鹏，从不加害受苦人。解放军某侦察排决心依靠当地群众，迅速摸清马鹏匪帮和"黑面匪"的情况。哈尼族战士嘎洛进村打听自己心爱的姑娘宗尼的下落。宗尼的妈妈伊格大婶告诉他，宗尼被马鹏抢去，卖到国外。嘎洛十分痛苦。解放军正在开展群众工作，突然遭到袭扰。被迫参加马鹏匪帮的沙木夜里回村探望妻子，却把脸抹得乌黑，排长大海和嘎洛分析断定：马鹏匪帮没有逃往国外，他们化装袭扰的目的，是想引诱解放军去打黑松林。黑松林深处的山洞里，黑面人正在看解放军的布告。"大哥"宗尼回忆起痛苦的往事--3年前，马鹏匪帮要把她们十几个姐妹卖给外国老板，为了反抗匪兵的污辱，宗尼夺枪打死了匪班长，在老..
