Synopsis

For his first film since 1998's Meet Joe Black, Martin Brest wrote and directed Gigli, a return to the crime comedy genre that first brought him notoriety with the films Beverly Hills Cop and Midnight Run. Ben Affleck stars as Larry Gigli, a thuggish mob hitman who has been assigned to kidnap Brian (Justin Bartha) the son of a federal prosecutor. Unsure if Gigli can handle the task alone, his bosses send along some help in the form of a lady gangster named Ricki, played by Jennifer Lopez. Though Gigli isn't exactly open to the idea of having Ricki around, sparks eventually fly between the two and a romance ensues. If that weren't enough, he even starts to become fond of Brian and is forced to question if he's going soft. The first of two 2003 films teaming Affleck and Lopez (the other being Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl), Gigli also stars Al Pacino and Christopher Walken.
