For Those in Peril

George MacKay stars in writer-director Paul Wright's feature debut, a moody, edgy drama about the aftermath of a Scottish fishing accident. Aaron is one of six men, including his brother Michael, who set out on a fishing trip off the north-east coast of Scotland. But, tragically, Aaron is the only man to return alive. Almost as soon as he sets foot back on dry land, it's clear the pernicious sense of guilt he feels at his survival, reinforced by his community's hostile suspicion about the accident, threatens to metaphorically drag him back under. Nichola Burley stars as Michael's girlfriend, who's sympathetic towards Aaron's plight; Michael Smiley plays her father, who most definitely isn't. A Film4 production.
