Synopsis
Quirky romantic comedy starring Jean Reno as Marcello, a man who will stop at nothing to ensure his terminally ill wife's last wish - to be buried alongside their late daughter - is fulfilled. The only trouble is that the cemetery has just two vacant plots and Marcello must prevent any locals from filling them before he has raised the money to pay for his wife's chosen resting place!, In Paul Weiland's Italian-set black comedy, Marcello (Jean Reno) is determined that his ailing wife Roseanna (Mercedes Ruehl) will get one of the three remaining plots in the village cemetery. But as she hangs on, old age, illness and accidents to others threaten his plans. Roseanna also wants her sister (Polly Walker) to marry Marcello after her death, but she's already beeing courted by a lawyer (Mark Frankel). And to complicate matters further, he's the nephew of a local landowner who's holding out against selling land that could expand the cemetery.
