Synopsis
This documentary chronicles the coming-of-age of Daje Shelton, a 17-year-old black girl growing up in a troubled neighborhood in St. Louis. As she struggles to succeed at an alternative high school, Shelton deals with her community's poor economic prospects and ingrained racism, as well as the social unrest that results when black teen Mike Brown is fatally shot by a police officer in nearby Ferguson, MO. Directed by Jeremy Levine and Landon Van Soest.
