Movie
Fatal Attraction
Synopsis
A good sign of a movie's impact is the number of imitators it inspires and Fatal Attraction has been the basis of numerous knock-offs large and small. One of the box-office biggies of 1987, it generated considerable controversy for its violence and for the film's ending, which was reshot at the last moment when preview audiences expressed dissatisfaction with it (though it was eventually made available on some video editions). The story centers on the tragic, selfish mistake of a self-centered but happily married New York lawyer (Michael Douglas) who has a torrid two-day affair with a sexy colleague (Glenn Close) who turns out to be dangerously unbalanced and becomes obsessed with destroying his life.
