Extreme Prejudice
Synopsis
Two men, childhood chums now diametrically opposed to one another. They shared the same young ambitions and hopes and later grew to love the same woman, but their divergent paths as men and the pressures of their time lead to an inevitable and deadly confrontation. The story is told against the contemporary canvas of drug-trafficking and money-laundering along the Texas-Mexican border. The stuff of our daily newspapers: Drug busts, with most of the contraband coming in over the Southwestern border, so huge that just reading about it is mood-altering; illegal profits accumulating so fast that new street millionaires seem to sprout up like the weed and other "nature's wonders" they deal; highly respected financial institutions failing to keep their skirts clean and receiving government fines for not reporting large deposits obviously made to launder the money' and official admonitions that the situation is a direct threat to national security.
