East Side Sushi

East Side Sushi tells the story of Juana (Diana Elizabeth Torres), a Latina single mother living in East Oakland who dreams of becoming a sushi chef despite the fact that it's a job traditionally held almost exclusively by Japanese men. Undeterred, Juana embarks on a journey of self-discovery and re-ignites her zest for food and life. The drama is the first feature film from director Anthony Lucero, who also penned the script.
