Η Μιράντα (Σόνια Ζωίδου), πλούσια και κακομαθημένη κόρη ενός Αθηναίου επιχειρηματία, συνοδεύει τον πατέρα της στο Μεσολόγγι, όπου υπάρχουν οι δικές τους εγκαταστάσεις ιχθυοκαλλιέργειας στις καλύτερες μεριές της λιμνοθάλασσας. Εκεί, και ενώ οι ντόπιοι ψαράδες προσπαθούν να ιδρύσουν συνεταιρισμό ώστε να μπορέσουν να αμυνθούν στην εκμετάλλευσή τους από τα αφεντικά, η Μιράντα θα ξελογιάσει ένα γοητευτικό και δυναμικό παλικάρι (Γιώργος Φούντας), αναστατώνοντας τη ζωή και τη σχέση του με την κοπέλα που αγαπούσε και σκόπευε να παντρευτεί (Τζένη Καρέζη).
