Synopsis
Though Durango Valley Rangers carried the Republic Pictures brand, it was produced independently by B-picture maven A. W. Hackel. Bob Steele stars as a headstrong young cowboy out to avenge the death of his father (wasn't he always doing this?) Taking into consideration the fact that a masked bandit known as "The Shadow" has been terrorizing the countryside, Steele poses as the Shadow in hopes of finding out who murdered his dad. Along the way, he also returns the money that the Shadow has stolen, making himself a candidate for a bullet in the noggin. Louise Stanley, fresh from a stint as comedian Charley Chase's leading lady at Columbia, is the heroine.
