Duck Soup
Synopsis
Classic Marx Brothers comedy, with Groucho as Rufus T Firefly, the President of Freedonia, whose inaugural act is to accidentally precipitate a war with neighbouring Sylvania. Chico and Harpo play the side-switching spies while Zeppo, in his last film as the fourth brother, is Firefly's adviser. The stately Margaret Dumont is, as usual, the butt of Groucho's gags while the torrid Raquel Torres plays the duplicitous femme fatale in the pay of Sylvania. Classic sequences include Groucho and Harpo's 'broken mirror' dance routine.
