A Felvidék visszacsatolása után játszódik a történet. A főszereplő dr. Kovács István, a diákjai és kollégái között népszerűségben felülmúlhatatlan történészprofesszor. Egy Trianon után elcsatolt felvidéki faluban született, de sikerült átjönnie és "Csonka Magyarországon" csinált karriert.
