Im Jahre 1471 ist Sultan Mohammed der größte Herrscher des Orients. Nur König Stefan, Herr der Walachei, widersetzt sich dem allmächtigen Sultan. Daraufhin schwört Mohammed grausame Rache, er will die ganze Walachei dem Erdboden gleichmachen, alle Wallachen töten und das ganze Land ausplündern. Um seine Rache in die Tat umzusetzen, stellt er das größte Heer der damaligen Zeit auf. Eine Million Krieger aller Herren Länder, darunter auch Kreuzritter, machen auf den Weg in die Walachei. Doch auch die Kämpfer um König Stefan bereiten sich vor. Sie wollen lieber in einem aussichtslosen Krieg sterben, als in die Sklaverei zu gehen.
