Die junge Cellistin Paula verliebt sich Hals über Kopf in den Neurologen Georg Ellis, den sie zufällig in der U-Bahn kennen lernt. Eine stürmische Liebesgeschichte beginnt, sehr zum Leidwesen das Gitarristen Leonard, der Tür an Tür mit Paula wohnt und schon lange für sie schwärmt.
