How Long Is “Derby”?

This color documentary chronicles the rise of an aspiring roller derby star named Mike Snell. Mike walks into the dressing room of derby star Charlie O'Connell and asks him how he should go about securing a position as a skater on the roller derby team. The camera follows the fast action of the game that night as the skaters race each other for points and try to knock each other out of the ring to the delight of the frenzied crowd. The extroverted Snell talks his way into a tryout with the club when they leave for Oakland, much to the dismay of his wife. She fights off several roller derby groupies while Mike tells an elderly couple in a bar about his big plans to make it big. The color process is not credited.
