Synopsis

On the streets they call cash dead presidents. And that's just what a Vietnam veteran is after when he returns home from the war only to find himself drawn into a life of crime. With the aid of his fellow vets he plans the ultimate heist -- a daring robbery of an armored car filled with unmarked U.S. currency!, It is 1972 when Anthony aged 22 returns from the marine corps to his neighbourhood, only to discover that he is not treated as a hero. Though for a while he manages a part time job in a butchers shop. Anthony with his girlfriend Juanita who bore his daughter shortly after he enlisted, is living in an infested South Bronx apartment barely making ends meet. Anthony feels he has no alternative but to take part in a scheme to obtain some "dead Presidents" - a slang term for cash: Anthony celebrates his combat knowledge to help plan the heist of an armoured car that carries out of circulation currency to be burned in Washington.
