Synopsis
Fantasy thriller in which Liam Neeson is Peyton Westlake, a brilliant scientist on the verge of a breakthrough in his research on synthetic skin. An experimental medical procedure saves his life, but Westlake is both physically and psychologically scarred by the event, unable to continue a normal life with his girlfriend. However, when an encounter with a gang of brutal thugs leaves him close to death and scarred beyond recognition, Westlake retreats into the shadows, away from his girlfriend Julie and the rest of the outside world, setting up a new laboratory in an abandoned building. There, with the aid of his still-intact brilliant mind, Westlake refashions himself as the shadowy superhero Darkman.
