12 Mart ve 12 Eylül askeri darbelerini yaşayan insanların psikolojik öyküsü. Muhasebecilik yaparak hayatını sürdüren Uğur (Tarık Akan), bu darbelerin oluşturduğu toplumun yeni yükselen değerlerine uyum sağlamakta zorlanır. Kaldı ki küçük kardeşini politik yaşama sokarak onun idam edilmesine yol açmanın verdiği suçluluk duygusuyla yaşamaktadır. Yazmakta olduğu romanında da bu iç hesaplaşmayı işleyen genç adam, benzer sorunlar içinde çırpınan ve 12 Eylül öncesi bir arkadaş grubundan tanıdığı Nihal'le (Nurseli İdiz) karşılaşır.
