Synopsis
Powerful drama, set towards the end of the 19th century, about a young man who leaves his Chicago orphanage to find his natural parents. Travelling in the wilds of the north western states, he befriends a petty criminal, but the two are destined to clash when one is hired to protect a forest from illegal felling, and the other falls in with some shady lumberjacks whose axes are poised.
